Every so often, a player commits fully to the process and the results speak for themselves — and this month’s Coaching Spotlight shines on Jake Ford.
Just two months ago, Jake began working closely with Callum, starting with a clear goal:
take his handicap from 12 into the mid single figures and build a more consistent, confident game.
What’s followed has been nothing short of impressive.
Handicap Drop: 12 to 9
In only eight weeks, Jake has achieved a 3-shot handicap reduction, thanks to improved ball striking, better course management and a focused practice structure built around his lessons.
Competition Success
The hard work hasn’t just shown on paper — it’s translated into results on the course:
Two competition wins
Buckland Cup Champion, partnering with Danny Thomas
A brilliant run of form that highlights how well Jake has applied what he’s been working on.
What’s Next?
With his handicap now at 9, Jake and Callum have already shifted focus to the next phase of his development — sharpening scoring clubs, improving approach play, and building the consistency needed to push even further into the single figures.
Jake’s progress is a great reminder of what can be achieved with structure, effort and the right coaching support.
Well done Jake — keep going, the best is yet to come!
